More Monkey Magic Goodness

Packing in the funtimes with Sage!

(This is a cut n’ pasted Instanugget)

Well, Monkey Magic has been and gone, and a wonderful time was had by all.

We packed a lot into his visit. We rode our bikes almost every day in one shape or form, be it around town or on dirt roads (Sage had a blast on his borrowed Jones). We made it up into the Sierra Norte mountains to ride trails (Sage is getting fast!) We ate and ate (mushroom memelas and barbacoa tacos and totopos especially). We roasted marshmallows on twig fires (Sage taught me the very best techniques). We drank aguas del día by the litre (pineapple and guanabana were favourites). We roamed the colourful and festive streets (and treated ourselves to mango paletas). We feasted on delicious homemade banana panque (with nuggets of local chocolate). We built a vintage Tamiya RC Hornet and painted it gold and raced it (we raced and repaired our other RC cars too). We collected and pressed wildflowers (‘tis the season). We petted all the dogs that wanted petting (Oaxacan street dogs are invariably cuties). And of course, we cuddled Huesos A LOT (as I was hugging Sage goodbye, Huesos whimpered to join in, licking both our faces).
